I think so long as the team is competitive then Betts won't get the sack no matter where the team end up. For me it was always going to be between Salford and Widnes for bottom spot, but that does not mean you can't win you're fair share of games.
In the end the leap up to SL is massive hence the licence system to allow teams to take their oppertunities in year 2 and 3 when they can get fair dibs on the players available. Did not see your opening game but spoke to family member who did. They were under the impression that Widnes gave their all in the opening 40, but Wakefield where able too ride the onslaught and just had too much in the final 3rd.
Wakefield are almost a new side and as such are going to be hard to predict.
