With a bit more luck with injuries an a bit more composure we could have easily been 9th or 10th this year. People talk about other teams injuries but they are nothing compared to Widnes'.

I think a few more years of solid recruitment, which will hopefully lead to bigger crowds and better results, will see you back into a position in the game which you enjoyed in the 70's and 80's.

I think for the good of the competition, the sport needs clubs like yours to show positive intent and not just 'auto-pilot' through their existance like London.

Nobody has been more surprised about Ah Van's progress than us Widnes fans but of all the risky signings we were forced to make to get a squad together he has been probably the one who paid off the most. He's a scorer, he's not looked off the pace, he's been very good. When he came here people laughed at us, but he's really answered his critics.

Sometimes it just takes a change of club and circumstances to bring the best out in people. I've seen it before.

No worries mate.

We tend to get a bit defensive when people assume/presume without having the benefit of seeing what's on offer week in week out.

By and large we've had a tough year borne out by our points against column in the table but there has been enough shown in the second part of the season by the club as a whole (& individuals who didn't show up in the 1st part of the season) to give us hope and grounds for more optimism for the coming season/s

Its a Pity for PAV that his bad games have been very public (Warrington at the Etihad and Wigan away) with a TV audience wondering how is this guy in the side?

You can usually rely that his next game usually at home he will play out of his skin! But as everyone has said he has been a real success for us this season.

The lads also got the rep for it now so any error will stick in people's minds yet his tries (most notably) against Saints in both home games etc will go virtually un-noticed whereas if it was Hall / Charnley people would be waxing lyrical about him.

Agree with this, a lot of his tries have been great finishes and like you say if it Hall or Charnley Eddie and Stevo would have been creaming theirselves.
