Glad you enjoyed the day anwar, a pity the first half spoiled the result. We obviously think we have a special club - to hear a neutral speccy say the same is gratifying.

BTW, as a neutral, what did you think of the man in the middles performance today?

I can't see how Widnes can't be included when the new licences are announced. The history, the facilities, the youth setup, the community work, the financial security it's all there.

As usual the refs generally in our sport are a joke, far below the standard that should be delivered and it does make our game look amateurish. It's the touch judges who grate on me the most, especially today. How many times were Barrow offside? It's pathetic, what is the point in having them if they don't make the ref aware....although he should have taken control of it. He should have clamped down on the poor behaviour of some of the Barrow players, they were allowed to get away with too much and all that reaction towards the crowd from Catic and Rooney should have been stamped out as soon as it started. At the same time, Widnes gave away some daft penalties themselves and Cullen needs to address that and soon on the evidence of today and where they are currently in the league.

Thanks for that.Yes,everything is in place and it would be criminal if Widnes were refused a licence next time.Many of our fans would walk away from the game forever should we be rejected after adhering to the criteria to the letter.No doubt we would once again be labelled as whingers,usually by fans of clubs with a safe seat in SL or those of championship clubs who never had a hope in hell of a licence.
Mick Burke was some player,winner of countless medals at Widnes plus the Lance Todd and Harry Sunderland trophies.My favourite performance from Mick was in the 1982 Premiership Final at Leeds when we hammered Hull.Mick had been laid up for weeks and weeks with a back injury but made his return for this game.He was overweight,not match fit and was playing against the best team in the country in the afternoon heat.He should'nt really have been playing in such a big game but walked off as man of the match.Cool as you like.Our finest full back by some distance.

As good a player as Peachey was, he came nowhere near Mick Burke - not within the proverbial country mile. I would put Peachey behind Ray Dutton and Alan Tait as well - at the very least in terms of achievement.
