Can't fault that performance at all...
The defence was immense, aggressive and well organised. Quagmire of a pitch but we adapted to the conditions really well.
One thing in particular is well worthy of a mention and that was our ball handling. Despite the ball being completely covered in mud it still didn't stop us putting it through a number of hands when we were in attack and you could count on the fingers of one hand the number of times that we knocked on. This certainly contributed to our win.
Thacks was in there in the middle of things getting really stuck in and proving that he doesn't just operate on hard surfaces and his intercept try was potentially the game winner for me relieving us from quite a bit of pressure. Although we are still in need of a SH I thought Coyle really took the game to Fev with his running. He was a complete nuisance and I thought he had a really good game.
As has been mentioned the forwards were dominant and Kav in particular stood out for me.
Grady??? what can you say... superb try to get us rolling and then some terrific defence. My MOM this week.
Not worried about the last 15 minutes (although I was nervous).. the game was well won and in control until the referee took Fev from their 20 to our 10 with three very dubious penalties for their first try. If anything considering the amount of pressure that came our way then, the defence actually did a very good job. Offsides, holding down.. he peppered us with everything at the end and the lads were obviously tired but did enough to keep the win.
As mentioned by OFFTHECUFF we have some very good options this year and two big game props in Haggerty and Sculthorpe to come into that side. A creative half in L'Anson and players facing real competition for places like Ford, Craven and Lealui.
