Tough. Conversations develop. It's their nature.

Little Pepe went to nursery school one day wearing his Widnes hat. His teacher asked him why he was a Widnes fan. He said, “Because my parents are.” His teacher said, “That’s not good. What would you do if your parents were drug dealers and hookers?” He replied, “Well then I would be a Warrington fan.”

There's a Wooly over there, baggy kecks and feathered hair
with a 3 star jumper half way up his back, that’s a fecking Wooly back!

Oooh-to… Oooh-to-be… Oooh-to-be-a… WOOLY!

We have a dump of a ground and yours may be quite good but whats the point of owning a diamond if its stuck in a huge barrel of 5hit.

For all the money you've spent you still cant muster more wins than lowly Whitehaven - what an embarrassment!

Just goes to show how helpful the salary cap is for Whitehaven. :)

I absolutely echo these sentiments. Having to associate ourselves with Whitehaven and compete with them is a complete embarrassment.

If it wasnt for the salary cap then im afraid your team of overpaid underachievers wouldn't even have a club to play for. You would have bankruptred yourselves years ago.

It shows the state of affairs in the town of eternal smog when the biggest cheer of the evening is reserved for the Celtic score when announced over the stadium tannoy.

I understand your embarrassment at being associated with Haven as we are a small club punching well above our weight. What ive never experienced however is the shame of being beaten by such a team and most probably finishing below them in the league.

Is it true that Ged Stokes has the smoothest face in Whitehaven?

We were bad but Laughton was as bad as usual. Not because he favours Widnes but just because he seems to have an axe to grind with our players for whatever reason.

To call our fans scum and inbreds is pretty rich considering some of the cretins that support your team. Eg last night when a fat chap screamed in my 3 year old sons ''get the fat loving ginger friend of the loving pitch''. Also enjopyed the nice person signs two fingers and general hatred towards the Haven fans every time Widnes scored (loads of times).

Widnes fans throwing mickey and kicking off at the NRC is probably the reason Haven dont really like Widnes coupled with a general arrogance and Newcastlesque ''were a big club really'' mentality.

Enjoy the real cup final next week.

Are you on smack mate?

Firstly may I be the first to offer my condolences to your club, as you have never been beaten fairly by Widnes. I'd have to go back to pre SL to name an occasion Widnes deserved a vicotry against you lot, you always get a rough end of the stick, not just from Laughton but from EVERY ref in the pro/semi pro game. You need justice.

As for you not liking us, I doubt any of us give a rats booty tbh, you're a minor irrelevance. Well apart from giving us a few of your players over the past few years of course. I seem to remember plenty of people feeling a bit edgy about going to the rec ground too due to treatment on previous visits. I recall being up there last season and some bright spark labelled us 'scousers with Manc accents'. Very interesting.

Are you mentally ok?

I mean we give your side a lesson in Rugby League, and though your having a great season you just come here talking a load of tosh for what purpose exactly?

Just take defeat on the chin and focus on the rest of the season, as we wouldn't want that loss to dent your title / pgrand final hopes

See you at your place in a few weeks maybe! 8)

Please don't judge all Have fans with mentality of the minority. I always hope Widnes do well & with the ex Haven connections (Cullen, Duffy, Fletcher, Morrison) always lok forward to our games.

Good luck for rest of season

A Widnesian in Ireland blog

: Mon Aug 24, 2009 1:01 pm
Fans of all clubs have idiots, Widnes are certainly no exception. I was unaware Haven had that many but last night I was unfortunate enough to be sat in front of two of the roughest fans I think I've ever seen.

As for the game just because a referee gives 9 penalties on the bounce doesn't mean that those penalties aren't justified. Some of those were blatant head high tackles and you were persistently offside. It got so embarrassing that the referee just stopped giving penalties against you in the second half. It speaks wonders that Ged Stokes has no problem with the refereeing.

He was also spot on to say that scoring first was a bad thing for them. It was only a few minutes but I thought they were looking half decent at that point. Suddenly we scored a couple and before they knew it the wind had been completely knocked out of them. We were awesome, looking to offload and try stuff all the time. I thought Dodd and Doran deserve special mention for the way they played.

The only slight issue I would have is that on another day our lack of ruthlessness could have cost us. The Duffy mistake left it looking like we were going to go in at half time at only 22-10 when we had dominated far more than that. Haven are a good side and I was worried that they might regroup at half time and put up more of a challenge in the second half.

It wasn't to be though. I didn't think anything would top the Fax result but in my opinion that was much better. I think at home we are the best side in the league. If you look at our last 4 home games the scores have been 58-10, 42-16, 78-4 and 46-22. 3 of those are against teams that will probably finish above us in the league table. That's my only worry, away we struggle to reproduce the same form and may not make the final because of it.

I read that report earlier, have to admire Ged Stokes honesty though I think he's always come across well. Shame a few more of your fans can't take a leaf out of yours and his books.
