I agree. More often than not, the coach is the main factor in success. And Warrington have a very good one. I just hope that we make the right decision when we appoint a coach for next year. Whether that be Denis Betts, or not, I have serious doubts atm.

Possibly. You never really know how good they’ll be until they’ve been in for a while, but they’re both a pretty sound bet. After last Sunday, I wouldn’t mind pinching Basil from the Leythers.

I bet you're still pinching yourself at the way Smith has turned things around at the Wire so quickly?

Many moons ago i started a facebook group 'Tony smith for Warrington Wolves' (before i ditched it), always knew he'd be the man to turn us around, the guy is a revelation and a brilliant coach, i just hope he feels settled enough to want to stay.

Don't you find the shifty way he looks at the interviewers a bit off putting though?

He is like a nervous shoplifter who is about to get the old "5 fingered discount" on a ham joint and a packet of razor blades and is looking for the store CCTV cameras.
