With the salary cap reducing from £400k to £300k cuts have to be made. Fax have only released 2 first team players and signed Gene, Aizue, Branigan, Nash and Maloney, none of these are playing for fun. No concessions will be allowed for these players salaries as they were all signed after the reduction was agreed. How do you do this?

I'm sure the Widnes fans would agree that it was only a relativley slow start that ultimately cost them last season. I would expect this season to be an entirely different Widnes side on the pitch. But we shall see.

Fair comment I guess. From what I know (which isn't much, granted) is we only had one full time player in last seasons squad. I'm not sure about the new guys but Gene (and Aizue?) I think have taken up player/coaching roles. I'm purely going off what I've read the papers so someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Not really, i did not like the way some faxfans shouting and mouthing scouse gits, when i went fax last year. To be honest i dont like fax but hey that is the same as man utd disliking liverpool.I know a fax fan and he is a decent guy.I see this forum as banter and fun and getting a reaction is making me laugh.It all about opinions and if a fax fan thinks we will come 8th, that is his opinion. I do not think fax are much stronger to be honest, but i admit will be in the top 3.I am relaxed and all banter and i will give more stick throughout the season. May the best team win and even though dislike fax i wish your team all the best.

How do we do this? We don't. We are over the salary cap by a country mile.

From last year Wilson, Bowman, Smith, Govin, have not been signed up. James has also gone after his year long spell. Also Barker was released mid season. It was also stated at the time that Fax were not at the peak of the Salary Cap but had a bit to spare.

Are we to suppose the players you mentioned commanded similar wages to that of Gene and Aizue etc.

Never let facts get in the way of a good story.
