I'm surprised about people keep saying about the poor numbers we took to Leigh last year. I went, but don't remember the crowd being that bad. The things that stand out was us playing poorly and us playing poorly but still felt like we should have won and that we'd threw the game away. the other thing that I remember was the 'trouble' with the heavy handed stewards who threw people out for not sitting down even though there were a lot of Leigh fans stood up in the stand to the left of where the Widnes fans were.
i totally agree with this..there was a really good atmosphere from the widnes fans. leigh were silent and they didnt have many fans themselves. the only leigh fans i heard singing where the few kids who played the percussion at half time and that was only when they took the lead! im sure we will take a few hundred tonight. and yes about the stewards..what a joke!! we were on the back row and a steward kept coming over telling us to sit or get thrown out..wouldnt mind but we weren't even rowdy! and yet their fans where stood up in the stand to our left. was hilarious tho wen he told us to sit down so all our fans started singing 'stand up if you love widnes'
