Don't think Wardleryred's post really warranted such abuse. Welcome Wardleyred.
Widnes undoubtedly, imo, deserve that SL place, going by current RFL rules and regs. If you want to discuss whether they REALLY deserve it, then go ahead.
The first line was ok the rest was WUM speak, if wanted to discuss franchising and our good / bad points in app fine but this was just a Salford fan stopped worrying about the drop and deciding to take the pish!
Little Pepe went to nursery school one day wearing his Widnes hat. His teacher asked him why he was a Widnes fan. He said, “Because my parents are.” His teacher said, “That’s not good. What would you do if your parents were drug dealers and hookers?” He replied, “Well then I would be a Warrington fan.”
There's a Wooly over there, baggy kecks and feathered hair with a 3 star jumper half way up his back, that’s a fecking Wooly back! Oooh-to… Oooh-to-be… Oooh-to-be-a… WOOLY!

Richardviking, seems to be on a high moral ground hopping trip at the moment.
Hopefully he’ll get over it soon, or it’ll become quite tiresome.
Wardley Red has not exactly been diplomatic about us in the past - he doesn't come on here with a clean slate and his motivation was to wind up, pure and simple. I've resisted posting about the faults of Salford in response, although we all know they are there by the grace of the BBC and an iconic stadium which has been scaled down and not even started yet. They harp on about being the right choice for super league last time, but they've been posting crowds which are verging on farcical and have not progressed on the pitch or off it since last time. They can count themselves very lucky that the BBC is moving close by and that Wakefields accounts are so often under scrutiny, because part of me thinks some of these signings they are making next season are nothing more than an attempt to keep scrutiny away from their bid because a ground isn't coming.
Crusaders have an excuse for poor crowds, what do Salford have? If you wanted to build up a club as being representative of the manchester area, I doubt such a poorly supported, poorly ran outfit is the right choice considering Wigan are in greater manchester.

Wardleryred is also currently trying and, much to the Halifax fans credit, failing to stir the poop on the halifax board.
When is the rest of the RL fraternity going to realise that winning the league and been consistently No.1 is not the criteria for a franchise?
If this had been the case, our chairman would have spent up to the cap assembling a first team capable of delivering the league. However, this IS NOT the criteria, we have spent money on the youth set up and getting the club viable again.
If it was a simple as winning the league, a whole host of clubs would have gone bust as reckless and over ambitious chairman would have spent a fortune on players in order to win the league.
This is why there is a salary cap - not just to create an even playing field, but to save the clubs from themselves, as has been proven in the past, they can be thir own worst enemy.
IMO, it is more difficult doing it the way we have done things than simply spending wads of cash on a first team and having a "poop or bust" mentality.

Exactly. Under the old system, none of the bigger clubs would have voted for such a low salary cap, and widnes would not have filled the squad with youngsters. Our injury list was substantial and enough to deny us any chance of competing this season for the top honour but we managed quite well all things considered.
We're doing what we can to make the license decision too costly to fuddle this time. To make sure we are undeniable. I am excited for the club, moreso than a long time.
Well well well!!certainly didnt think i'd cause quite a storm!! Far from trolling this post, excuse me what are fans forums for???didnt know it was so criminal to start a post on another clubs board????nowt wrong in my opinion in having a good debate, shame some folk have to start with the personal insults and inbox messages ive recieved!!!
