I can't believe some of the crap i've read off Widnes fans of late .Talking about getting in the play-offs 'within 2 seasons'.

You've got absolutley no chance. Do you really think big name players will want to sign for a second rate club like Widnes when top clubs like Wire will be in for them?

Also,what's all this 'cup kings' i keep reading about? Can someone wake up these 'Vikings' fans and tell them it isn't the 70s anymore.

You're still living off glorys from so long ago you need to be a pensioner just to remember them. We at Wire are living off CURRENT glorys.

It was actually a name more often than not attributed to the club from from fans of other clubs and people in the media.

When we went to the Stobart the last time i went, we went in the club at the ground don't know what it's called there was a door charge, anyway when we had got our drinks we were sat near some photo's on the wall which showed Widnes lifting the world club challenge trophy, my mate said those photo's show what a big club Widnes are, not many teams can say they have won that trophy in their history, and in my opinion you will do as good as Wire have in the last couple of years no problem.

World Club Challenge 89 - 90.

Wire won the Challenge Cup in 2009 after 35 years looking at an empty trophy cabinet.

Current glories Two Challenge cups doesn't mean glories. You are now on a downward slide.

I am a Pensioner, and I remember Warrington always trying to poach Widnes players, and I also remember the two best players you ever had Harry Bath and Brian Bevan --- both from Australia. Never any real local talent, which is not surprising with some of the supporters that Warrington have. I must add that most appear knowledgeable but you could be described as "minus habens."

On a downward spiral? You're looking at the club which is all set for Old Trafford glory in October. We're currently 4th in the big league. Widnes could only dream of being there.

35 years with an empty trophy cabinet? We went that time without winning the Challenge Cup but won John Player Trophys,Lancashire Cups and the Premiership Trophys during that time. Or do those trophies only count when the 'Cup Kings' win them?

on a clear day i can see warrington from my window actually. with the naked eye.
