The appo was an institution to youth boozers! Shame really had potential to be a decent little ale house but last owners didn't seem majorly fussed about it and prices were rather high considering about 300 yards from Weatherspoons.

i too was one of the appo crew around the ages of 17-18 back when it had its first major 'refurb' around 1999.

he either went to The Wad or Fairfield, not sure which of the two though. i remember playing against him several times when i was in the P&P rugby teams.

He went to Fairfield. He also lived round the corner from me and he was very cocky as he would never shut up about his dad being John Allen.
