That’s not my recollection of it, and I went to that Widnes v Wire final in 75. I can tell you now that he definitely said it prior to that game and not the Saints game. He may have said it again for the Saints game, but he did it first in 75. I remember all the banter going around at the time over Murphy’s boast, including before and after the match.

I imagine Headingley 07 seems a long time ago, doesn't it?

Cheers mate. Aside from one or two cas fans I'd like to see react to a relegation you seem like a good lot and I look forward to visiting once again in 2011.

More fans than any other club that may have been promoted to SL.

More fans than both the Welsh & Quinns have ever had in SL.

More away fans than both of the above, Wakey & Salfraud will ever take to a game.

Bigger gates at our derbies than any of the above etc etc.

Which when all said & done is what our sport needs, more people watching!

We will be no different on the field than the SL side that makes way for us for the first 2 years, nor would any other team, but maybe by the 3rd year we can be in the top 8.

It is time someone else got a chance, what is there to lose?

Made up it is my club but the RFL chose us because we can we can make the biggest impact at present.

I also feel very sorry for the club that makes way for us, we have been in the wilderness for to long & they are gonna be there also.
