2nd now a real possibility : Thu Jul 16, 2009 8:32 pm
Only 1 point behind Barrow with level games played.

Come on lads (could even go top if Fax lose)

We have come into form when it matters.I can`t see us catching fax for the top spot but we can get 2nd and maybe win the one that matters at warrington.

Fev hav only lost 4 games and still have all to play for as well...

There's a lot of rugby still to be played, and i still think 3rd would be a good achievement given our early season form. Fax have it in their hands to finish top and Barrow if they bounch back from the last two games have 2nd, should be a corkin finish..

How we play in our next 2 games i think will decie if we finish 3rd/4th or have a chance of 2nd

you have played 2 games less though so its in our hands but difficult game in toulouse like you say anything can happen. we still have to go to your place yet. we need to have a bit of a gap by that game though cause on the form your in i cant see us beating you at yours. thank god we probably wont have to play you at your place in the play offs or we would be out of them as well.

see you in the grand final :D

Even in the unlikely scenario that we finish first and fax finished second and we beat you in the play-off, you'd have a second chance of making the final.

Still think third is quite a tough task for us. Gateshead, Toulouse, Fev & Barrow away, Halifax & Haven at home.

Stroll in the park that lot for the rejuvinated Widnes. Now that Cullen has turned things around i can't see you losing again until next years 5th round Challenge Cup tie against Leeds at Headingley.

I agree completely with that JonM. I think that we might be decidely brought back to earth with a bump by a Gateshead side that is in a decent run of form of late..
Just looking at their recent results good wins against Leigh, Fax and then Featherstone show that this is a side that is fighting hard to stay in this division. Hopefully we won't take our eye off the ball but I wouldn't be surprised to see a loss up there for us.
I don't think that would signal that the turnaround is over, far from it, but make us realise how much effort we need to put into every game in this league.
I hope we keep these performances rolling though.

while thats obvisouly a joke, back when neil kelly was coach he took a side that had been pants 1/2 a season. then after easter monday didn't lose again till the first game of the following season against saints.

it can be done (i doubt it though)

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity

Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike

SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!
