Looking like a good squad now. I was worried earlier what with the clearout and it'll be another ultra competitive league but we will do alright with that squad. It'll be interesting to see how the youngsters go too.

Some weak links in that side though, Chris. Allen apart, I think the pack is pretty ordinary (featuring Leigh player of the year 2009 Lee Doran), and Toa and Varks are hit and miss at the best of times. That said, you've got the best half-back pairing by some margin IMHO.

Looks pretty good.

Couple of them might be there last season at this level tho.

Think theres a few half back pairings in the race with Black and Brannigan at Fax or Rooney and Campbell/Coyle at Barrow.

Re: Squad as it is... : Tue Nov 17, 2009 12:47 pm
I think we'll see something like this and tbh i'd be happy with that overall in this division...

1. Ford
2. Gaskell
3. Gardner
4. Toa
5. Flynn
6. Thackeray
7. Webster
8. Pickersgill
9. Smith
10. Gannon
11.Doran
12. Allen
13. Varkulis

14. Coyle
15. Kavanagh
16. Haggerty
17. Houghton

As VM says more (DUAL) to come but you have to look at squad as it is... like how we judge against Fax / Leigh etc as they'll be duelling as well more than likely! For a first 17 am happy with that and then dual to add a bit more to side!

Could only really see one player dropping from forwards for a dual and then maybe another Centre for Gardner (or FB with Ford moving into Centre) apart from that I don't see any need for much change atm!

Use duals to cover OUR injuries and not our players to cover the duals injuries etc etc!

Near enough my side, and i think a surprise could be Thompson, who was reserve team player of the year and was a revelation at blackpool on loan.Unlike some that had gone their.

I have no real opinion on this until I have seen him in action, but I believe Cullen has already publically stated that Ford will play at fullback next year. I suspect things can quickly change though as signings are made and the season progresses.
