Get in..... Well done to everyone concerned and good on Thacks for sticking with us. I know the lad and his lass has settled in Widnes now and this is terrific news for the club.

Great news, a stand off who can get 20 a season is worth his weight in gold.

Great stuff!

We just need a proper scrum half, with a good kicking game, to play along side him now.

L'Anson looked fairly decent in the brief spell we saw him. I also think that one or two of the younger halves will be rotated a bit more regularly to introduce them to higher level RL.

I've always rated Thackeray - an excellent re-signing and he could hack it in SL, no sweat.

I wouldn't want another player playing out of position again. He is a stand off/ loose forward. I know there are similar skills involved, but they are different in many ways. ‘Oh, I think he can do a job there’ just doesn’t cut it anymore for me. It has been a major failing of our last two coaching staff. Plus playing two stand offs didn’t work well for ‘Happy Frank’ either.

I want a proper scrum half, not a stand off who looked good for the 10 minutes he played for us!

Thacks played most of his younger career at Scrum Half so i think we might see him there and I'anson at stand off. Branighan is still being linked though.

Was wondering where he'd gone VM

I'Ansons profiles mention playing 7 too and tbf when played for KR always seemed to be with Dobson, the dream team scrum half... Any idea where he played at junior / reserve level?
