Scored two or three notably good tries for us last season ( ), but the rest of his play was decidedly dodgy. Judging by his reaction to our offer of a permanent contract for 2011, I'd say he's slightly over-rating himself.

What do we have now? Deano & Paddy? Maybe I guess as as it stands Paddy or Craven will have to play one and unless someone has a brain explosion a d re signs Gardner we could be short though I'd rather play are very own Alex Brown instead! Leigh should pull out all the stops as they are desperate for pace.

Though if we get Carmont Tyrer could play wing lol.

Big Jim and Matt have signed new 1 year deals according to some folk who attended on Friday.

If they have then we just need an experienced half back and a big prop and were more or less done.

Happy if Jim Gannon has signed another year contract.Matt Gardner still unsure about to be honest.One more prop and a utility halfback will do me aswell.Out of the U18s i would like to see Grant Gore,Craven,Alex Gerrard and Alex Brown given a chance in the first team squad.

I’m not too keen on him myself. However, Paul Cullen, in his infinite wisdom, seemed to think he was a centre. Clearly he isn’t. Hopefully, he’ll be 3rd choice winger. That is his best position and that is where he should be played.

Dont think matt gardner hasd a position,youd be better looking at the backs at widnes st maries,no disrespect to them but gardner isnt what a team looking for a SL license needs.

After the 1st few games, I was impressed by Gardners work rate and wasn't too worried that he hadn't impressed that much out wide as we very rarely work enough space for our centres and wingers anyway. Even when we had Kevin Penny we rarely gave him the chance to make a break and the only chances he did have were when he dropped back to return kicks. However as the season wore Gardner made unforced error after unforced error in attack and was regularly found wanting in defence especially defending kicks.

Looks the part and looks and like he could be a decent player, but just doesn't seem to be able to play himself into some decent and consistant form. I'd give him another go on the wing, but just not at centre.
