Colour me genuinely surprised. Appears our second Mersey crossing has escaped the tory cuts. Osbourne himself is saying its vital to boosting the economy. A bit angry about the tolls being introduced to the existing bridge as well as funding this one though but that was always the plan.

Surprised? a little yes...... it is however so badly needed, thankfully my journey to work for the last 8 years doesnt involve the Widnes/Runcorn bridge, however when i do have to pop over it's a bloody nightmare.

I used to be sick of tackling the bridge every morning. One slight issue and you could be waiting all morning.

I used to have to drive over the bridge delivering about 20 times a day every day. If someone braked hard it caused a tailback!
