Barrow delay new coach : Tue Nov 02, 2010 11:20 am  

Interesting to note the Raiders were said to be ready to announce a new coach and some big new signings yesterday but they have put it back to... give all candidtaes a fair crack at the whip.

What do we read into this? No-one really that good interested? Awaiting Crompton's dealings with Blackpool (payoff's etc) top be all cleared. Or the biggy... waiting to see what happens with Noble and Crusaders?

Signings is an odd one though as you'd think they'd announce them anyway if all done, rather than risk losing these players? No squad and no coach in Novemeber isn't great for any side and their are season tickets to sell too.

Interesting to see how they take shape next year, that's for sure!

At any other team you could expect that the delay in new signings may be to allow any new coach to add a few of his players to the squad but we know that Des does all the picking up there so that can't be the reason.

Lots of coach rumours (most are probably bollox), but I'm sure Des and the other 4 members of the BOD have strict ideas on who they want. So far some of the names banded around have been Crompton, Nobby, Sharpe, Hanley, Betts, Demitriou, Lam ..... indeed just about every out of work coach in the world !

Another week and I reckon we'll know.
