Good article though. Must be an exciting feeling knowing that you'll be part of MM next year.

Not sure what the "misunderstanding" was the last time round? It was pretty obvious to everyone with half a brain - even if the dumbasses at the RFL didn't spell it out properly for Mr O.

Widnes and Betts do not expect to be involved in the Northern Rail Cup next season. His appointment was further evidence of the Cheshire club's conviction that they will be part of Super League's Welsh jamboree in February 2012, probably with a derby against Warrington

For some reason i could see us playing Crusaders as there derby and wire v salford if we do get the nod.

Must admit,it's the first I have heard about a misunderstanding.I suspect Mr O'Connor is being polite and tactful.

hopefully we will see the season kick off again in cardiff and start the weekend of with the super league champions against the challenge cup winners in a charity shildd match. for example taking last seasons champions kick the weekend of with wigan against warrington followed by crusaders against saints then cas vs huddersfield. on sunday kick off with leeds vs bradford with catalans v quins followed by the vikings against salford with the hull derby finishing the weekend of thoughts?

Presumably, he is talking about the fact that it was supposed to be 18 teams chasing 14 spots when in fact Mr Lewis made it clear afterwards that it was actually 17 teams chasing 13 spots and Crusaders were always nailed on for a spot.

Or it could have been the fact that we were under the impression that our spell in administration wouldn't negate every other factor we had in our favour. (So many positive factors in fact that many had us down as scoring a B grade).

Anyway.. water under the bridge... We can all laugh about it now!

i was taking last seasons champions as examples, surley a chaity shield match to kick the weekend of would be great for the sport and could pull in extra supporters

Doubt it would make much difference tbh. Plus you have the stand alone WCC for that. Would more people go just because Wigan played Wire when they are playing Saints anyway? I think not in honesty!
