Okay, its Saturday night and your dreams come true and you win 5 million, would you invest in Widnes Vikings? would you demand to go on the board with Steve O'connor?

I would pump in a million personally and then carry on being a fan.

I would probably buy a box though and pay for the South stand seats to get done in Black & White to match the rest of the ground.

If I won the massive euro lottery I would buy Widnes RLFC and then run it into the ground. At the last home match ever I would stand in the middle of the pitch and beat my bare chest at the weeping fans.

Would I get out of the ground alive? Hope so because I'd want to see it demolished in the final act.

Not that I have given this any great amount of thought....... ahem..
Putting the amount into my lottery winning spreadsheet calculator...

I think a million would be a little too much. I'd probably consider putting a million into an account and then just giving SOC the interest generated on a regular basis. That way hopefully the club would receive a regular continuous amount.
I'd also take a box at the ground for each and every game although I'd pick the matches where I'd want to sit in the North stand with the rest of the plebs..

If I won all of the £117 Euro Millions, I’d buy the ground from the council and improve it even more. I’d fill in the corners and turn the west stand into terracing. I’d then give it to the club, with a £5 Million pound account, which should provide them with about £200k a year in interest, in order to help with running costs and maintenance.

I’d then set up a £10 Million pound trust fund, from which the club would be able to draw around £400k - £500k pa for as long as it exists (depending on interest rates of course)

I would have statues built around the ground of all the players from the Widnes Hall Of Fame and keep making them as more players are entered into it. The museum would also get a permanent home too.

All I would demand is an executive box, and all the trimmings which come with it, for life!




I’d still have plenty of money to live and commute from Cyprus to watch the matches.

Pepe with that money you could relocate the team to Cyprus. You would definately get a franchise then and it wouldn't matter if the crowds were poor because being an expansion club thats expected anyway.

Because this is my idea I'd like a place on the board and a nice seaview villa (with swimming pool)
