Just out of interest GFB have Fax got any Champ 1 players signed up for next year yet (apart the ones already in your squad)?

with the widnes vikings only announcing 1 signing for 2012 think the rest of the players are being assessed throughout the season , think they will be a raft of players leaving , you only have to look at how super league is if you start carrying players through who are not doing it week in week out in the championship then it could be a long season.

A fair assessment. I'd suspect the ones who are currently being looked at most of all at the moment are the youngsters, with one or two others being watched too. But sacking Thackray, for whatever reason, shows our intent in that regard. Most of the players if not all are going.

Craven, Flynn, Hulme, Mulally et al those are the ones who will be coming with us you'd think.

Shirley you have considered playing your young prospects in this no pressure season to help get them up to speed / test them out to see if they will hack it etc

This is what we're saying son. Widnes's finest have been up in arms about signing Wiganer's on the dual reg thingy. It's frustrating as in the long term we don't have any problems but short term there are a raft of them - perhaps that is inherent with the license decision and its timing. If some of these were to sign permanently however I'd be less sceptical. I see the predicament the club are in though - we need to build for next year off the field and get fans and the stayaways interested again and we can only do that this year by getting a team that is competing.
