18's beat huddersfield yesterday in an entertaining game at the Wid's,both teams had a number of 16 yr old's in their sides.1'st half was pretty poor but Widnes got their act together 2nd half and ran in some great try's but credit to huddersfield who never gave up.
Think the scoreline ended up 56-22.

Well done to the them.

Just goes to show how many young promising players we have at the club that they can beat so many super league clubs academy sides.

Err..no we didnt. Huddesrfield apparently had 5 or 6 16 year olds whilst Widnes were virtually at full strength.

The quality such as Jack Owens,Brown, and Adam Lawton make a difference to the team.

Agreed but my MOM was Matty Norton who this week played at 13. Contributed for the full 80 minutes with hard work and aggression in the forwards as well as scoring a great try.

Heard this lad has been playing well all season?Not seen him play, as only seen one Academy game this year.It was when all the academy teams,Scholarship U16s, and reserves played at the Wids mate.

Errr contributed the full 80 john? an amazing player then lol considering he was spelled for 15-20 mins, to still make an impact from the sidelines but "when" he was on ..yes agreed he had a great game in a good pack's performance.
