just spoke to kev been released by wakefeild, would he do a job with us with his speed on our new pitch in superleague ? i think he may be an ok squad player with us with a good centre, like darren wright in the 90s with offiah?

Personally I'd have liked him here... But we have already rejected the chance to sign him.

He was training with the Trinity squad on Tuesday first day of pre season training. Shame because by all accounts he's a good lad at training with obvious pace to burn good luck to the lad where ever he ends up.

He's not good enough. I remember this season in our last ever match against Widnes - towards the end of the match he broke down the left flank and should have rounded off that match with a stunning try but he bottled it and the move broke down. It was a very telling moment in Penny's career. He isn't Super League.

I don't think he bottled it. If I remember correctly, it was a filthy night, pouring with rain. Penny made the break and tried to chip the ball over the fullback but just miss-kicked the ball. Nothing to do with bottle, he is a brave fella just to go onto a Rugby pitch these days with some of the thugs that are playing.

I think Kevin is one of those 'in betweeners',not quite good enough for SL but a little too good for the lower league.Cracking lad though and great team player.I think I speak for all Widnes fans in wishing him well and good luck to him wherever he goes next.

I'm pretty sure he had a man on the inside though? At the time I was fully behind the lad and thought it was one of those episodes where you simply coach him on where he went wrong, go through the thought processes and try to help him evaluate his choices a bit better. Then the next time he is in a similar situation we get the score.

Having not watched SL for a good while now, is he particularly quicker than most other wingers in SL as really that is is one attribute
