Have they won you over now?

I was slightly on the fence earlier this year, but leaning to the side that I'd like someone better in to coach us.

I do know that the coaching staff have sussed out the poor signings from 2011 and are doing their utmost to move certain players on. They know exactly where Widnes are now. And I like that honesty.


Regardless of what we think, Denis has at least bought himself half a season in 2013 to prove he's the man to take Widnes to higher places.

Defence has improved Ten Fold and this is the main reason for our improvements.Attack has always been decent even when was rubbish.Well Betts wont be as expensive as a Top Nrl coach, so i think best sticking with Betts.Finances and sustainability are very important on licenceses.I feel we are going in the right direction with Betts at the helm and the rugby has been entertaining recently.

Most tipped us to finish bottom before a ball was kicked, considering we've lost Watts and Moore and had an extensive injury list I think they all deserve a pat on the back. Were 4 points clear of London and improving with each week that passes.


Job (almost) done in year 1, his faith in players like Dave Allen etc has also paid off, he's been a rock this year in the pack.

I predicted us to finish 10th before the start of the season. I'd be happy with 12th now!

There were moments when I started to lose faith in the management just a few weeks ago, but recent form has certainly restored it! We've improved massively and given some of the big boys a run for their money, especially Saints. Hopefully we can press on after a terrific result and performance by all the lads against Salford with a win against HKR.

To be Honest ive never doubted paul cullen a tough player good coach plenty off passion and experiance but only doubted Denis cause his lack of experiance at top level coaching think being thrown in at the deep end as they say has brought out his qualities as a coach and being of the most succesfull Wigan team ever knows how to dig deep Take my Hat off to you Proved me wrong and many of us

Couldn't make the game at the weekend but I would say that Betts is continuing to win me round.

For me the Cas away game was quite simply an embarrassment too far. I've been to pretty much every game this year home and away I've witnessed some pure thrashings by the opposition but against a Cas side that were there for the taking and we managed to play worse than them, sorry but that was too much for me.

Let's not kid ourselves here. The performances have improved immensely (conveniently forgetting Magic Weekend). The last game I got to was Salford away and the scoreline at the end did not paint an accurate picture of the first 25 minutes of the game which was hard fought. Salford defended well but we really stuck in there, held our discipline and it paid off in spades.

Cullen, I've not had a problem with. It will be a while yet before we see how effective PC is at his job but there's no doubting the support he's given to DB and the fact that ultimately he didn't relent and sack DB when all the noise was being made (from me too at one point) that that is what he should do.

Sport is fickle as are the fans, the abuse Betts was getting earlier in the season to what is being said now is rather amusing Well done on improving though, fair play

Well done for admitting you were wrong about Denis.

Pity one or two others on here refuse to do the same.

He has won many around and I hope he now finds himself in a position where he can continue to improve us as a team.
