Salford were aided and abetted by the referee refusing to refer Gaskell's offside when he intercepted for his long range try. He was so far offside that even the TV commentators - who normally ignore such things - mentioned it and Cummings stated that the referee or his TJs should have given the penalty to Widnes rather that a try to Salford.

Ah well - just goes to show how much Salford are favoured!!!!
