No given an ordinary season with a settled side, but with a good few years of turmoil behind it Doncaster RL is not a club IMO that folk are prepared to gamble on a season ticket, whatever the price. I will not be buying a season ticket and will take it game for game. That is the whole point, why set the matchday senior price at a level that is off putting to the hardned fans who think likewise, never mind the casual fans that may decide to come down if the team performs accordingly. The club is not a charity I grant you, but neither are the bloody long suffering folk who have been there through thick and thin. The club needs to be a trusted organization and overpricing its OAP fans ain't doing much for that trust.

I suppose the season ticket price (adult) awards the faithful.

The reduction in Season Ticket price as against the total of paying at the gate per game is indeed a reward for the 'faithful' but it also gives the Club money up front which is clearly advantageous to it.

The point being made is that more and more people have sadly lost faith in the Club to see out any season without some sort of problem and therefore feel that in the event that they may miss a game or two due to holidays, the benefit (for them) is not worth the gamble of paying up front.
(That is not a criticism of those in charge now, it's just people have long memories).

As we have been told that the Club has not budgeted for any season ticket sales, just 350 Adults and 100 children at the gate then Season Ticket Sales would indeed be a bonus to the Club assuming the other targets are met.

It does however pose a question ... Is it 350 paying full adult price or a percentage paying the OAP price?

The Supporters Trust Committee have a meeting scheduled with Carl Hall, Steve Scholes and John Scarrow on Thursday (12 November).

We will raise the concerns highlighted in this thread and provide some feedback.

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity

Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike

SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!

Hi All,

If as many people supported the club as in our Race night coming up on the 10th December, fans forums we are looking at holding regular(not just the same faces every time), lottery and other events we put on as they do come on here to air there views, we may be in a better position in the future when we look at season ticket prices.

From reading the posts on here neally everyone has come up with a different price structure so whoever would of set prices not everyone would of been happy.

This is not having a go at anyone it's fact.

Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit.. You made that post and the other posts that you usually make, like anybody really cares what you say!!..

So, how would you define a 'Proper' Dons supporter??

I would say.. Anybody who comes to support the Dons every week, 'or' those who just go now and again and pays their money is a 'proper' Dons supporter.. But.. You only get what you pay for!!

Tune in tomorra for more of SO's Sarcastic comments

War does not determine who is right - only who is left.

Thank God I'm an atheist.

It wasn't sarcasm at all.....he's an Hull supporter who comes to some Donny games....and comes on here and calls people tw@ts.
I would classify that as a very low form of contribution.

As for what I say.......on this particular topic unless you come from Mars....you should have detected that most proper dons supporters agree the senior price differential is wrong.
Which is the point of this thread.

And unless you have something proper to contribue apart from trying to fuel arguments....perhaps you ought to not bother.

This is an information and DISCUSSION forum.....I don't expect people to like or agree with everything I say....but at least I contribute and regularly.

I think that enough has now been said on this subject for the time being.

It will be raised with the Club representatives on Thursday and their response will be made available.

However, one thought ... we have so few supporters that we can ill afford to fall out amongst ourselves.

The Supporters Society (Trust) Committee raised this issue with representatives from the Club yesterday evening.

As Carl Hall was unable to attend the meeting, John Scarrow (Chairman) fielded the question and advised that the Club took a decision that they wished to get Children (and therefore Families) to the games - hence the £1 per game offer to 5 - 16 year olds.

Beyond that they pitched the prices as they believed appropriate to achieve a required level of revenue once the Childrens price had been factored in. They accept that this has not proved popular with a small number of people but acknowledge that they won't please all of the people all of the time.

John pointed out that the Club believe the Season Tickets (for all supporters) to be an extremely good deal and understood that they are priced as attractively as anyone else in our division.

The prices for match day and season tickets will remain as advertised.

Gary Fox
(Chairman - Doncaster Rugby League Supporters Society).
