So many variables, the draw, the going, where the pace in the race will come from. I can recall getting a strong tip from Mick Easterby many years ago for one of his in the Cambridgeshire, Lester's riding it said the loveable old rogue. Sure enough it won its race on its side of the Rowley Mile but was many lengths adrift from the winning side.

On a serious note, I wonder if Swinton will benefit from the week off? we must be at or very near our best for this game. As you are aware they pushed Keighley all the way at home. Some are reporting that they can just about put a 17 out, I don't buy that for a second, we are in for a huge battle.

I know Rochdale have been struggling with injuries, don't know about Swinton. The week off will have given them a chance to recover... but from our point of view we need it to be a week for them to get rusty!

It'd be great for the fans if we could win and be at home in the final.

You have to question anything coming out of respective camps DM as to player availability, hence at half time NWC 6 Hornets 24.

I watched the game on The Sportsman channel. Rochdale seemed to have a few players back but I'd be surprised if they could give the Dons or Swinton a game next week. At this level though, it's often about not making mistakes and pressure does strange things.

Is Wanderer polishing his wad ready for the morning? Maybe his cofferes are full to overflowing after Bolton's win against Peterborough?
