Ales sampled on Christmas Eve in Doncaster ..

Derventio Brewery Mrs Claus 4.0%
Triple F I Can't Remember 6.8%
(both in Cask Corner)

Marston Christmas Pudding 3.9%
and the version of Thorne Darleys Ghost which is doing the rounds are the moment ... sadly a little too sweet for me

New Year seen-in in Cask Corner and helping the festivities along were;

Toad Tadpole, Toad Mature Toad and one from the brewery which I hadn't tasted before, Leaf Kicker 3.8%.

also

Willys Original Bitter 3.9% (apparently brewed in Cleethorpes)
Tom Woods Christmas Cheers 4.5% and
Cottage Somerset & Dorset Ale 4.4%

the last named being my favourite of the evening so a second helping was required (rude not to ).

A visit to York yesterday included the following ...

A couple of pints of the ever-reliable Thornbridge Lord Marples in the Pivni WBF.

A seasonal Thornbridge brew Wild Holly 4.8% in Harkers.

Great Heck Final Judgement 4.1% in Judges Cellar Bar (reported as brewed specially for the bar).

Woods (Shropshire) Christmas Cracker 6.0% in the Maltings.

Not a bad drink all day

PLEASE NOTE:

As from tomorrow (04/01/2011) Cask Corner will no longer offer a 25% discount to CAMRA members.

CAMRA Wetherspoons vouchers will however be accepted.

Had a brief spell in town yesterday afternoon which yielded ...

Tom Woods Christmas Cheer 4.5%
Shardlow Five Bells 5.0%
(both in Cask Corner)

Blindmans Siberia 4.7%
(Old Angel)

all very enjoyable.

The last named brewery was one I'd not spotted before but is in Leighton (near Frome) Somerset.

Had an afternoon round York on Friday so sampled many new ales...can;t for the life of me rememebr the names of any. needless to say it was a good day out

Wharfe Bank CamFell Flame 4.4% (in the Black Rock)
Triple fff Comfortably Numb 5.0% (Six Chimneys)
Fernandes Chocolate Stout 5.5% and Ossett B2K 7.5% (Fernandes Brewery Tap)
Moorhouse New Years Resolution 4.2% (Harrys Bar)
and
Timothy Taylor Landlord 4.3% (Elephant & Castle)
