Re: A Question for In The Dugout : Sun Mar 27, 2016 11:17 am
Baz,Could you please forward these questions to Carl and see if we can get Gary Thornton's views In The Dugout please:
I think we need Gary Thornton to appear on In The Dugout. Here are seven questions for him:
Q1) Having seen the pack beaten in the last two matches, do you feel we have the strength and power to compete up-front with the better sides in the league?
Q2) Why is the discipline so poor? Yellow cards for backchat and late tackles are very unprofessional. Do we discipline players for such behaviour?
Q3) In the York game, did it not cross the mind of any of the coaches to suggest that in the second half we kick off into the sun? It was a nightmare seeing the ball coming out of the sinking sun, as Matty Welham knows all too well from what happened to him in the first half.
Q4) Chopping and changing the side on a weekly basis cannot be a good thing. Should we be aiming to get three Hull players on long-term loan deals to help with selection consistency?
Q5) I believe part of the reason why we give away so many penalties is because we're constantly on the back foot due to being over-powered by the opposition. We have to resort to non-legal means to slow them down. We could help ourselves by making sure the third man in the tackle takes the legs instead of also going high. Will we be working on this? At times, the York players were still able to keep moving forwards even when we had three men in the tackle.
Q6) Having conceded 94 points in the last two matches, supporters don't just have alarms bells ringing, their heads are exploding. Having seen four competitive matches, where do you think we will finish in the league?
Q7) What would you say to supporters who are thinking of giving up on the team after what has happened in the last 15 months?
