Weekend Results: W Wales 4, N Wales 76. Have N Wales got their act together again? Keighley 68, Cornwall 0. A good job done by Keighley with Kyle Trout on debut. Oldham 12, Dons 64. An excellent result for us. Hunslet 43, London 16. Hunslet remain in 6th, three points behind the Dons. Swinton 54, Midlands 22. Swinton are in third place.
We've no game next weekend. It looks as though Swinton (at Cornwall) and Rochdale (home to London) will restore their two point advantage over the Dons. Teams two to five will all be on 14 games played at that stage.
With six games then to be played, we've got to gain two points on our rivals and improve our points difference to finish second.
Game left: (my guess at the results are in brackets)
Rochdale: Cornwall (H) (WIN), Keighley (A) (LOSE), London (H) (WIN), Swinton (H) (WIN), W Wales (H) (WIN), N Wales (A) (WIN), DONS (A) (LOSE) Final Points = 30
Swinton: Hunslet (H) (WIN), Keighley (H) (LOSE), Oldham (H) (WIN), N Wales (A) (WIN), Rochdale (A) (LOSE), W Wales (A) (WIN), Cornwall (A) (WIN) Final Points = 30
Dons: Keighley (H) (LOSE), London (H) (WIN), Rochdale (H) (WIN), W Wales (H) (WIN), Hunslet (A) (WIN), Midlands (A) (WIN) Final Points = 30
Conclusion: N Wales, Rochdale and Swinton might swap points with each other in ways not shown by my predictions but it seems as though at least one of them will get to 30 points unless they slip up agaimst the lesser teams.
We can only better 30 points if we beat Keighley at home. Beating Rochdale at home is a must or else second place will probably be beyond us. I still suspect points difference will be vital. We need to give London, W Wales and Midlands serious drubbings!
We desperately need Keighley to win their matches against N Wales, Rochdale and Swinton otherwise our task will be much more difficult.
Can we win all our games and set a target of 32 points?
Next Weekend: Cornwall v Swinton; W Wales v Oldham; N Wales v Hunslet; Midlands v Keighley; Rochdale v London.

I think you underestimate Hunslet, they will be hard to beat with Beryl at the helm. I also think you overestimate both Rochdale and Swinton...particularly Swinton. Our hardest game is Hunslet away, we are rubbish at the SLS normally... We could well beat Keighley too... Rochdale we should beat...
The game at Hunslet is on a Friday evening just 5 days after what could be an epic battle with the Cougars, recovery time will be essential. Hunslet have to travel to Swinton on the same day we play Keighley. It could depend who comes out of their respective games in the best shape.

N Wales, Swinton and the Dons have to face Hunslet and the outcomes of those games are likely to be pivotal. If we could could win with the other two losing, that would provide the platform for getting above them.
Weekend Results: Cornwall 10, Swinton 44. Swinton seem like one trick ponies. Stop them running from dummy half and you take away their main threat. W Wales 0, Oldham 38. N Wales 36, Hunslet 26. Hunslet were leading 20-12 at half-time. Beryl and Peltier both played. Midlands 6, Keighley 54. Rochdale 32, London 14. London were winning 14-8 at half-time. Rangi wasn’t in the Rochdale team.
Other news: Keighley have officially been awarded a 48-0 win for their cancelled game at London.
Next Weekend: Hunslet v Midlands; London v Cornwall; Dons v W Wales; Oldham v N Wales; Rochdale v Swinton We could do with Oldham beating N Wales.
The Dons might move up to fourth if we hammer W Wales as we’re presently two points behind Swinton and Rochdale. Rochdale’s points diff is 56 better than ours, Swinton’s is 161 better.
The weekend after: London v W Wales; Cornwall v N Wales; Dons v Rochdale; Midlands v Oldham; and Swinton v Keighley.
We certainly need Keighley to beat Swinton.

Weekend Results: Hunslet 0, Midlands 24; London Skolars 46, Cornwall 6; Oldham 16, N Wales 29; Rochdale 22, Swinton 53; Dons 62, West Wales 6.
The Dons move up to fourth place with Rochdale dropping to fifth on points difference. Rochdale have still got to play Cornwall and West Wales at home so a win at home to Rochdale next weekend is vital if we want to stay above them.
Hunslet’s loss at home to Midlands has quashed any chance they might have of finishing ahead of us.

It’s a must win game for us against Rochdale. If we lose, we’d probably have to beat Keighley to have any chance of finishing above Rochdale.
We also need Keighley to beat Swinton or else catching Swinton may otherwise be beyond us. Fixtures the weekend after: W Wales v Swinton; Rochdale v Cornwall; Keighley v Hunslet; Midlands v Dons; Oldham v London

Its a pity Our League can't switch TV coverage this weekend from the points fest at Cornwall to what should be a cracker at Swinton.
For my two penneth I can't see us overhauling North Wales and we will end up like last year having to compete in the final (fingers crossed) at an away venue.
Keighley are just a machine this season and could well replicate next year what Barrow have done this season, which brings me onto Workington where it would appear to have gone pear shaped somewhat and the begging bowl is appearing. Promotion is key but has to be backed up with justified finance or all the euphoria around the initial result of winning the final is for nothing.
