War does not determine who is right - only who is left.

Thank God I'm an atheist.

I've no idea, not been for a few years.
It's immaterial anyway if it's at Bramall Lane.

Re: O/T Another Round - More tales of Real Ale : Tue Apr 17, 2012 3:58 pm
Bradford was a bit of a let down on the Real Ale front.

After the Turls Green (Lloyds) where Titanic's Ship of Dreams 4.5% was sampled, The Castle was closed (guide says it should have been open), the New Beehive was closed and Haigys was closed (guide said open as did a sign in the window  ).

The City Vaults was therefore a breath of fresh air (Black Sheep Bitter) before it was off to the Top House outside Odsal (Black Sheep Bitter).

I did have two excellent pints in Leeds en-route back ...

Midnight Bell in the Brewery Tap (rude not to) and Moor Beer Company Amoor, a very nice porter at 4.5% in the Scarbrough Hotel.

Don't forget the non-real ale in the Bradford ground bar ... nectar or what?
Compared to the Keepquiet, it was nectar. Cheaper too.

Once again I'm having to miss this due to work, but for anyone able to go I bet it's a brilliant event:

Well, after drinking real ale and the likes for 40 years, tonight I have seen a new innovation in Guiness drinking .Just been to Napoleons casino where I ordered a pint of the black stuff. I was served from a can which was completely flat when poured. The glass was then stood on a type of vibrating plate which, basically shook the glass till a creamy head appeared. Tasted good, just think it might now be impossible to serve it with a shamrock on top!
