As a born and bred football fan It was my first doncaster and rugby league match last weekend. I took my young lad as I want my kids to "support" their local teams regardless of the sport and even more importantly I think the team needs my/our support.
I have read from the local press of the ongoings at the club for a few seasons now and wanted to show my support for the new regime, so decided that where possible we will get to their home matches this season.
Even from my limited knowledge of the sport and the club I think i was aware that this would be a long season for the team and club generally. What I witnessed on Saturday proved my thinking was correct.
I am sure the behind the scenes team as well as the players on the field team are hurting and embarrassed this week, I would also guess that they would be little frustrated at some of the comments on this forum.
However disappointing the results so far and for the rest of this season get, I think some on this forum should take into account that in most ways this is a new club and new team, there will be limited cash available and the club will need the hard core fans to stay behind the team.
If I was Mr Hall and I read this forumIwould be feeling a little bit disallussioned with this thread and some of the down right negative posts after 2 competative games. Supporting your team is always more important than winning, how is the club going to attract more people to follow the team if its own supporters trust people and forum administrators are going to talk it down and rubbish peoples efforts at every opportunity. Only 1 other poster on this particular thread has posted anything resembling a positive comment.
I will be there again this weekend with my kid and will cheer the team on and hope to see an improved performance or maybe even a win : ) but if not then at least we will enjoy the fact that at least there is a local RL club that I can go and watch.
