Talking to your coach and Secretary after the game and they didn't see it as such a comfortable win that your suggesting and in fact thought that you got and made the best of the 50/50's. Queens did show the big game mentality and came off the ropes in the last five minutes to record 10 late points, Richard Hulme being the architect showing great composure to score and create late in the game.

Queens had 4 players missing from what would be their ideal starting 17 and the Marauders had 3 :BOOHOO:

What a cracking game of Amateur Rugby League

Moorends proved that there is competition in the Regional leagues for the team of the moment Leeds based Queens at the Recreation Ground, Moorends, both side contributed to a highly exciting high impact game that had many moments of excellent Rugby League Football combining with it’s fair share of bell ringers.

8 minutes.
Queens opened their account with a well worked try down their right hand side that saw Steve Morton crashing over in the corner, 0 - 4.

20 minutes.
Both sides where moving the ball around well but Queens where just edging the contact area unloading more in the tackle, Steve Morton went in for his second try winning the chase to a grubber kick, goaled by Jonathon Winter, 0 - 10.

23 minutes.
Moorends hit back after their forwards had taken them to within 10 metres of the Queens try line ! It was the turn of the home side to unload in the tackle, Ryan Rafferty grubber into the in goal area was pounced on by Chris Allen, goaled Ryan Rafferty, 6 - 10

38 minutes.

Steve Morton came up with his hat trick when he hacked forward a loose ball on the half-way line - the ball landed perfectly in the Moorends in goal area for the big centre to win the foot race, goaled James Brown 6 - 16

Half-Time Moorends-Thorne Marauders 6 - 16 Queens

55 minutes.
Greg Mills opened the second half scoring when he latched onto a Wayne Green grubber to bring the home side back into the game, goaled Ryan Rafferty 12 - 16.

60 minutes.
Saw what would have been the try of the game go begging, Moorends full-back Gaz Carey broke the Queens defence 10 metres inside his own half, beating four players he looked to be going over next to the posts before he stumbled allowing Arran Henry to make an excellent last ditch tackle.

62 minutes.
Queens then did score what was the try of the game, moving the ball through half-a-dozen pairs of hands before Dean Townend went over, goaled James Brown 12 - 22

70 minutes.
Moorends forwards exhorted pressure on the visitors that gave Wayne Green the space to ghost over next to the posts, goaled Ryan Rafferty 18 - 22.

72 minutes.
Moorends where having the better of the exchanges and brought the scores level after Queens failed to clear yet another grubber into the in goal area, Ryan Rafferty dropping on the loose ball, 22 - 22.

74 minutes.
Wayne Green’s 35 metre drop goal attempt was ruled to be just wide by the referee Mr Steve Presley.

75 minutes.
Moorends defended soundly from the re-start keeping the visitors inside their own half, a last tackle kick and chase saw the referee awarding Queens a penalty for tackling the player without the ball, from the resulting set, defending their line a Moorends defender shot out to quick leaving a gap that Richard Hulme never needed inviting twice to dart into, goaled James Brown 22 - 28.

79 minutes.
Richard Hulme opened the door again to force the last nail in to the Moorends coffin, jumping from acting half the illusive hooker found Dean Townend supporting on his shoulder to go over in the corner 22 - 32.

Moorends-Thorne Marauders 22 - 32 Queens

This was an excellent game that swung from end to end entertaining the crowd for the full 80 minutes, it had big hits and strong running from the forwards with the backs contributing pace and quick hands.

Queens opened the game dominating the first quarter putting points on the board before Moorends could settled ! the game was then fought out evenly balanced well into the second half, The Marauders started growing in stature in the last quarter and Queens where feeling the pressure as the home side gradually hauled themselves level, however Queens showed why they are feared by most of the NCL when they turned a few little scraps into 10 points.
