On this day 57 years ago today 17th April 1965 I took my girlfriend & future wife to watch her first rugby league game Dons v Batley.
So far that season the Dons had only won eight of there thirty one league fixtures & were placed next to bottom of the league table.
But on this day they produced a memorable display defeating Batley 43-5 scoring eleven tires including a hat-trick for local wingman Graham Arrand.
