Ethan Wade O'Gorman (ex York Knights and Accrington Stanley media) has been added to the Dons media team and he has requested via the Supporters Facebook page ideas where the match day content could be improved, I personally think that may be the wrong area and that the club need to keep us better informed (when appropriate) of player news, game build up, post game interviews etc.
If you can head over onto the site and have a gander at the discussion there have been some good ideas already put forward.
Must be a coincidence that improvement on the clubs media front was discussed on this forum this very week.
Well, this looks like a step in the right direction...
I don't do Facebook. I hope Ethan comes and introduces himself to the fans on here.
Matchday content is something Shaun Lockwood was always very keen on discussing. I like to see pre-game entertainment and the kids playing touch rugby, etc. The more people we can get involved the better but generally speaking I'm not sure these things will make the difference between someone coming to a match or not (unless your kids are involved directly in the pre-game stuff).
As I mentioned recently, we need a Carl Hall update each week like the old In The Dug Out. It gets everyone in the mood for the weekend match. Why injuries and lack of availability need to be treated like secrets confuses me. Tony Miller never felt a need to keep everything so hush hush but getting such info out of Richard Horne is never likely to happen.
Forming better connections between the players and the fans would help - the kids especially love that sort of thing.
Regarding the lack of ball boys - why don't we get a package of goodies together at the start of the season to attract the kids to do it? Meeting the players before each game would be a good incentive.
