What do people think then?

I'm quite impressed, the general gameplay has improved a lot but I think that the Wii controller doesn't work well for it (which is why I have ordered a gamecube controller). The graphics are a bit naff, but I expected them to be on the Wii.

Well I advise people to buy the GameCube controller for the game, because it is much easier to pass the ball and kick it too.

Makes the gameplay seem better as the passing is smoother. The controls on it take some getting used to if you haven't used a GameCube controller before, but it is worth getting used to :)

Seems good, reading some reviews by the boys on the sidhe forum. Still haven't got mine yet, Flamin' ASDA!

Yeh really like it.

Improves on RL2 in almost every way - lots of fun to play and the improved kicking game and on the fly tactics really make the game more rewarding than the previous one.

Agree with gamecube controller too, plays pants without it.

Also the game looked like turd on my HD tv with the standard wii cable - so blurry and hard to see. Make sure you get a component cable if you're on a HD tv, it looks 100% better.

It's terrible, but it's rugby league so I'll still play it.

It's unplayable on standard Wii controls. Why couldn't they have made it compatible with the "Wii classic" controller that plugs into the Wiimote. That controller replicates everything the Gamecube controller does, and was produced for that very purpose.

The graphics are poor - not just by Wii standards, but by any standard. Poor in both visual quality and animation quality.
Gameplay is poor, with ineffective player control and movement.
AI is poor, with players taking all sorts of odd positions, not running onto the ball. Player ratings don't seem to mean much other than speed - I've had little halves crash through tackles at the same rate as big forwards.

Still, it's rugby league, so I've bought it, and I'll play it.

Wow, that's a pretty scathing review, in complete contrast to most reviews.

Not utilising the Wii Classic Controller is a huge mistake, I'm afraid. It's slightly better responsively than the Gamecube controller, I find.

I'm just waiting for the local stockist to get it in then I can try it. On the strength of most reviews, it seems to be worth getting.

Are you using the Component cable?

Spot on in every respect
I would also add that the opposistion AI means they chuck it about at ridiculous angles and offload from impossible positions
Major gripes include the wingers standing in touch when you pass to them and players inability to realise the ball is in front of them and allowing the opposistion to pick it up!
Best Rugby league game out there :D

I agree with you 100% The ai makes me really laugh, at one point i used that tatic on defence to get ready for the kick, and instead of smith dropping back, peacock was the one to run back to getting ready for the kick and run it back
