Sounded like rovers gave it their all and ran out of steam. 50 points is a drubbing whatever way you want to look at it. That said, I think this is the best rovers side in a few seasons. No fear of relegation this year but not much else for you to look forward to other than your cup final against the mighty FC.
I'll forgive you the final sentence because otherwise you were pretty much correct. 50 points is a drubbing even if it didn't reflect the game. Even so we're still 7th and that's after getting 2 loop/extra fixtures of Saints and Catalans. Talking of cup finals year after year your best crowd and financial salvation is your Rovers fixture so I'd say Rovers is actually YOUR cup final.
Rovers are building and everything is relative. Paul Lakin has set the target of year on year improvement that's all. We'll be looking forward to the whole of the season because the higher we finish the more encouraging it will be.
With the stadium purchase around the corner and Hull paying unsustainable wages (Adam Pearson's words not mine) maybe the gap will close quicker than you think.
