What can you expect from Wakefield Trinity
Wakefield have a huge front row, huge! There’s no respite when the interchanges happen either as the two coming off the bench are bigger than the two who’ll start the game and there’s one big prop who hasn’t even made the 19.
It’s almost definitely the biggest prop forward rota in Super League so, without trying to offend anyone, you can’t match Trinity for size. Therefore a smaller more mobile pack is your best opportunity to win the battle up front.
While Wakefield’s back row & loose are sizeable they’re very mobile and run some great lines while being athletic enough to defend against lighter players with great footwork. IMO it’s this mix of size up front and mobility in the back rows that’s worked so well for Trinity over the last season or so.
We have two clever halves who get the team moving and link the forward and back play pretty efficiently. Miller has a bit of ‘off the cuff’ play in him and the speed to punish you if he gets through the line.
The whole three quarter line has genuine pace and finishing power from anywhere on the field. At least one genuine speedster/finisher will be left out.
Grix is the puppet master at the back and has enough experience to chime in and be a playmaker or extra man out wide.
It’s early season and every team will be looking for their timing and combinations so like everyone else Trinity can be vulnerable in the first few weeks. One of our biggest failings is discipline and another is ball control, we push the pass too often trying to make things happen.
You have an intimidating stadium, full of loud and passionate supporters who creat a great atmosphere who get behind your team so I expect this to be a tough game that remains tight for around 65 minutes but I think Trinity will get on top and finish stronger.

Good Luck for the season
