I think people are expecting a signing a week like last season forgetting that we lost half the team last year for once we aren't trying to bed in 10 new players we are at least going in with a settled team with no nob heads spitting there dummy out
Aye - I think we've got used to loads of off-season signings. We've had 4
major squad rebuilds, by my count, in the 7 off-seasons since Morgan left for one reason or another, which is clearly more than would have been ideal.
Mind you, the continuity we had from 2015-16, when a pack that had struggled anyway and lost some senior players had Tyrone McCarthy replaced by Chris Clarkson and everybody else replaced by a 21 year old Robbie Mulhern, wasn't great either.
I did wonder if there'd be another 'statement of intent' signing for 2018, but in fairness the question would be who? Potentially transformative players are a rare breed and it can go wrong (see Mason, Willie). Carney, McGuire and Masoe are a pretty good triumvirate to have added or announced before last season ended.
It's maybe a good thing that the current head coach didn't go through 2016 with us and doesn't see things through that prism quite so much.
If the Luke Page rumour is true, that'll be a bit more POWER! He looks like a lad who might win the odd collision. Hull will probably sign to play in the centres now, and we'll get Jack Logan back on loan - Worst preseason... ever!
