Trying isn't good enough.

I once "tried" to pull Linda Vaginablista, obviously I did but that slightly obfuscates my point.

How have we allowed ourselves to get into this position?

I do not understand why, after ten years that our sole objective appears to be surviving the Rubbish Eights.

Well, I think I finally do. Hudgell and Crossland are great, we all know we would probably be a Blackpool Borough if it wasn't for them, but this is far as they can take us, and that is absolutely not a criticism. We would be dead withought them and I fundamentally do not want them to go. Let me state that. There is no Abramovich or Dubai connection out there for us, for now we've just got to suck it up.

Scrapping along is as good as it's going to get.

Couldn't agree more - effort by itself isn't enough. Tonight was a perfect example. You need strength, depth and quality, and we're short across the board this year.

There's been some good moments over the last few years, but against a generally downward trend. Camel's back has snapped this year, and we've gone from gradual decline into rapid descent. Webbo's doing a decent firefighting job with a thimble full of water.

Hudgell and Crossland have been and remain crucial to Hull KR, but the last few years there's not been the same clear vision there was up to 2010 or so, IMO. Or maybe it just has to be run on tighter budget, which is absolutely fair enough, but I still think that it could be done better than it has been.

Maybe but if your talking about improving teams I would have said Cats and Widnes rather than Salford

To be fair Salford had, but they now know they'll be in the 'middle 8's' due to their pending points deduction, I'm amazed with Catalans away form so far, they could only win 1 game a season previously. VERY strange Super League this season (so far).

Everyone has the same to deal with. Ffs, Catalans had to travel to ours on a Thursday night, and we put up a mickey poor performance like that?!
I hate to say it, but some Rovers fans would be happy with any performance. Tonight was unacceptable!

That's a big thing for me, I really don't think the same amount of investment has been made in the first team squad compared to previous seasons and we have definitely dropped off the pace compared to everyone else. You can't fault Hudgell et al but perhaps there really is a sense that they can't take the club any further?

Tbh, delusional never seems to be a Rovers fan's trait. Acceptance of anything with a shred of effort seems to be.

IT WAS A POOR PERFORMANCE ITS NOT THE FIRST AND IT WONT BE THE LAST and I'm sorry you were disgusted at me saying you sound like a Hull fan but nothing you've added since convinces me otherwise

I didn't over react last week because I could see that Leeds being rubbish contributed as much as we did to the result. Equally, I'm not going to need suicide watch after that. Any semblance of a competitive game disappeared before we got a set with the ball. They look class and that's without Carney. We are not going to get any consistency with our squad this year. Once you realise that then you can de-stress.

At least it will be warm when we get to see the French shaft us again next month.

Couldn't give a fig tbh. I've supported Rovers through thick and (mostly) extremely thin. I've been to Chorley Lynx, Whitehaven, and various places like that watching rovers. I've nothing to prove the likes of you.
My posts are a disappointment of most rovers fans seeing the glass half full after a season like we're having right now.
It needs fans like myself to have a different view to the airy fairy views that most seem to accept with rovers most years.

If Rugby League Rocks, then Hull KR is its Soul.

Re: Catalans game : Thu Apr 07, 2016 10:40 pm
I've just got back to Pick Your Ring 15 minutes before usual. Little or no traffic on the way back helped and leaving 10 minutes before the end was a revelation. It was unwatchable for me in the second half. I was embarrassed by our ineptitude. Just had to get out of the funeral parlour that was Craven Park tonight.

I can't make my mind up if we were so bad or Catalans were so brilliant.

After some deliberation I've finally decided. Good as Catalans were and they made it look effortless at times, we were a carbon copy of our preseason performances and our home game to Wakefield. This time we were generous in coughing up possession, slapdash in defence, had a guy playing winger who gifted our opposition 3 of the first 4 tries and we all seemed half hearted and short of ideas. Add in to the mix some dubious refereeing decisions against us and no luck at all on the night and the result was a foregone conclusion after 25 mins. We did well to get zero and Cats should have put over 50 on us.

I don't buy this 4 games in 12 days mullarkey, thin squad and lack of squad rotation opportunity as a series of mitigating factors for tonight. Same for most teams. We just didn't turn up. The first 4 tries were so soft, our heads dropped.

Kieran Dixon is a TOTAL liability. He is not learning and keeps making the same mistakes. No brain and no courage. We need to get rid of him.

Onwards and upwards to the Middle 8s. Bring on 2017.
