I don't think it is any one player but the combinations they play in. Abdul at 6 needs to be paired with a smart elusive 7 who asks questions of the defence (not Ellis). I would play Abdul at 13 Quinlan at 6, Docker-Clay at 7, Addy & Lunt cover the 9. We just need a steady fullback. Moss may well the best choice there.
Our fullback slot seems to be something T.S. has very specific ideas about.
First it was to be Matt Marsh, following his injury we then signed Adam Quinlan, both half backs converted into the role.
Liam Harris is been played there in training and York have been asked to give him game time at fullback now.
I think this tells us just what Tim wants is fullback to be like, a small quick pacy extra half who can join the attacking line as second receiver.
When you match this role to the way we try and control the ruck and keep the ball rolling forward with tight middle of the park forward play, it starts to show how the 6 is not the first choice point of attack. but more an extra back row.
Blair, Addy, Donno and Abdul all play in the same tight space behind the props and is why our outside backs do not see as much of the ball as we would sometimes like.
I think changing the type of half would mean completely changing our game style.
