Would quite like GML to look up the record for number of scrum pull ups. Jesus every scrum that went down was pulled up and restacked. Awful game made worse for awful reffing.
But the ball came out and went the same way every time
Itll be a tough game, but i'm sorry, the way KR has played lately, especially from the front line I can see another defeat.
Catalans have a massive pack and they are very physical, the weather conditions will be in favour of the dragons as they will play down the middle and win the battle.
I can see your weekly giro is undeserved.
A role as a pundit or bookmaker awaits.
(TBF, the point regards the appalling weather did have the effect to ensuring the class between the teams was narrowed.)
Defensively we were very good against a catalans side that looked devoid of ideas. First half I thought the ref hammered us and let cats get away with the self same offences, 2nd half we were our own worst enemy and spilled a lot of ball. I think we barely got to the 5th tackle all game.
On a positive we played a very big pack that penalties aside seemed to struggle to make yards against us, and seldom brok the line. A few shoots of optimism but a long way to go yet.
As for Sherwin, he was anonymous, I assume he was signed to take a load of Bosc but he did very little and they struggled to create anything.
'when my life is over, the thing which will have given me greatest pride is that I was first to plunge into the sea, swimming freely underwater without any connection to the terrestrial world'
Probably the worst game of RL I've seen since we were in the NL's. Dropped ball, knock ons, missed tackles and a general lack of ideas from Les Catalans. I actually forgot Sherwin was on the park for the most part.
I'm not sure if he's correct but Dobson said the penalty count was 5-23 in Les Catalans favour, they certainly had a lot more ball than us. Walters must be one of the worst SL coaches ever, that was a Catalans side that contained quite a few very good players but their confidence is obviously shot.
We did what we had to do and deserved the win, Murrell's try was the highlight and Vella had his best game in a Rovers shirt for quite some time.
He won't be far off.
It just goes to show how well we actually did as Les Cats must have had 60% of possession with persistent poor decisions from Smith giving them attacking chances. I fail to see how we were that much dirtier than Cats yesterday, they seemed to get away with some real dirty stuff, yet Smith constantly blew up for the slightest thing against us.
I was impressed with the way our pack dominated theirs, but I think we were watching two very poor sides yesterday and if we play EXACTLY to the same level against Wire, we are in for a thumping.
That was the worst win I've seen Rovers post since joining SL. The condidtions were ok up to the last quarter, yet both sides dropped a lot of ball. Smith wouldn't let the game flow, and Catalans showed exactly why they are bottom of the league. The loss of Pelo in the 1st half didn;t help them, but they were clueless even before his departure.
After watching Quins destroy Crusaders last night, I think its safe to assume that a monumental improvement is required if we are to win our next home game (I've already written off Friday's game even allowing for Wire's 13-man international call up!).
'Well theres a first for everything, like the dobbins first and last season in super league' .
Hull FC you were once a feeder club for the mighty HKR and now your living in its shadow ! THE KC CURSE HAS RETURNED ,THEY ARE ALL WANTING TO GO HOME OR INJURED ! FACT . Doing a lap of honour for getting 2 points PRICELESS season 2011 ! Top 4 team 2012 your having a laugh !

I fail to see how our pack dominated the catalans pack. 60% posession in favour of the cats and a large percentage for the terrirtory also, if this is how you define dominating a pack then i fear for us big time, we get dominated by most of the bigger teams in the fact that we are a fairly small team , we are desperately in need of some more size and bulk in our forward line and to be honest i think this should be of more concern than getting another half back right now.

Agreed, i think we need a player in the mould/type of O'meley(?) someone coming off the bench who is going to run hard, push back the defence and rough some people up.

Perhaps the way we "handled" their pack is more accurate than "dominated".
I was happier with our efforts defending our line than with the early try scored, but we will need to be a lot better with the ball on Friday because we would not have kept a better attacking side like Warrington out for so long.
Overall we were OK but we've been here before after a thrashing. We need to be "solid" in attack and defence for the full 80 minutes to put a run of wins together, something we've struggled with all season.

Have to say i agree to a certain extent and the fact Rovers will have pretty much the same pack of forwards for the next season or two must be a worry to some fans. Had Cats discipline been better with and without the ball they would probably have won and the final scoreline flattered Rovers enormously i thought.
Though Rovers clearly defended better they would surely have been turned over by most SL sides.
