If I’m honest I didn’t see anything in the tackle other than it was aggressive unfortunately we lost Tomkins for the game

Sheens called it as most saw it. Warrington very fortunate Austin didn't get a ban. What's poor is Warrington fans saying Tomkins deserved his injury etc. Any team with Westwood and Hill on payroll can't take any moral high ground. Like I said earlier in thread the fact he hasn't been banned won't affect us at all so really it's just hot air. How Austin got nowt and Taylor gets 3 is just baffling?

After John Boudebza’s ban from a few years ago nowt surprises me on that front.

Player comes into complete tackle on opponent as opponent attempts to play on. Match Official’s report observes accidental contact to the head with the leg. Footage inconclusive as to point of contact with point of opponent’s head. Sin bin sufficient for accidental contact with head of opponent.

It would have been difficult to ban him based on the video that was available. Unless there is another angle which I haven't seen. You can't see for sure whether his knee contacts the head and if it does it seems unlikely that it was intentional. There are a couple of stills which show Joel in a pretty vulnerable looking position with his head bowed low as he tries to get up. I wondered if the weight of the challenge forced his head into the ground and that was what caused the concussion. I'm speculating of course.

I think thats a pretty good assessment of how it happened,joel was in an awkward position and the pressure of austins tackle pushed his head down.
