If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

Frederick Douglas

I like it.

We need to build a team based around youth as part of becoming more self sufficient. If the Knights were confident enough in this bloke to essentially entrust the next five years of the nucleus of their team to him, that's a pretty ringing endorsement.

Next year is a rebuilding year, although it would be not a whole lot of fun, I'd be prepared to finish outside the play off's as long as Sandercock is putting the processes and systems in place for the future.

Welcome aboard.

Good luck to him

I suppose next season could be seen as a transitional one, and if so – it’s important the fans remain patient.

In all truth tho, I'd be surprised if we didn't finish in/around the play offs next year. We've still got a decent team and if we have a full season from messrs Dobson & Green I see no reason why we won't be able to finish in the fabled ‘8’ or above.

Looks a decent coach, the only thing that worries me is that we may only sign 1 more player on top of those already signed,is this bloke a miracle worker because he will have to be if we only sign 1 more player.

Where has this info of only signing one more player come from? I would assume we wont know if it's going to be 1 or more until the new season starts.

It's a direct quote in today's HDM (so take it with a large pinch of salt):
Canterbury prop Mickey Paea and Crusaders hooker Lincoln Withers are expected to be confirmed soon, and Sandercock hopes he can bring in at least one more signing.

"Watch this space," he said.

"That is something I will speak to Neil Hudgell about, but hopefully I will be able to bring across one player. Nothing is official yet, but it's possible it may be a Newcastle player.

"If it comes off, he is a very good player and I think the Hull KR fans will be very excited about it."

Good luck to him. Sounds like a smart bloke and grounded.

If he's looking at bringing in a player from his previous club, I assume Joel Clinton must be departing. Short-term, I'd like another powerful forward, but perhaps it is time to allow the younger players to step up and build on that.

It's time for operation Smokey!

With England Knights players taking the role of 15-year old 110m hurdlists or greco-roman wrestlers. Bit of an abductio ad absurdam low blow there - that is how we roll Craig, that is how we roll.

All the investment in youth, without any credit or understanding (from others) that'd it'd take time to pay dividends, is coming good. Ram their words right down their throats Craig. ROAR!

I was initially slightly underwhelmed by the appointment given that i had never heard of the bloke a week ago but after reading up on him i can see why he has been chosen.
He seems to tick the box's that our Chairman spoke of in his radio interview a while back so fair play to our board in carrying out what has obviously been a very meticulous search.
He has clearly been tasked with developing our youth and i really think that he is in the right place at the right time with some of the kids that we have in our system now.
Above all i just hope that because it is his first head coaches job at the top level we see him approach it with the freshness which we saw Justin start with 6 years ago.
