The idiot who threw the bottle should be banned if identified, same as the few (and it was a few, probably no more than thirty) who ran on, even if they weren't fighting.
However, hundreds of Salford fans ran onto the pitch, I don't agree with it, it's just not acceptable in modern sport, I could understand it if was just celebratory, but it wasn't. An awful lot of it was goading. About fifteen minutes after the end a "Rover's 'til I Die" chant went up, at this point all the Salford fans were congregated over by the tunnel on the other side of the pitch, on hearing the chant the majority of this group turned and began gesturing again to the East Stand, some running until the stewards headed them off.
I wasn't going to comment on any of this but a final incident changed my mind.
Walking away from the ground down Preston Road, all ten of the Salford coach's passed me and my friend, nine out of the ten contained people banging on the windows from most of the side of the coach, people flicking the v's, giving us the finger, making offering us out for a fight gestures and even throat slitting.
Classy.
