Most frustrating season? : Fri Jun 10, 2016 10:57 pm
Pig sick of this year. Injuries have devastated us (and again tonight), a few lacklustre performances (not tonight) and usual questionable ref decisions.

Got to find a way to simply survive this year and stay in SL and hope our luck changes before next season.

This may involve biting the bullet and letting Campo go, especially if a short term answer available. What's Chisholm up to?

If you consider this frustrating, try thinking of any season between 1997 & 2005. Id take this over mid table in the national leagues and a play off exit at Rochdale.

Chin up man, we bust a gut tonight but spilled too much ball in the final analysis.

I was a season pass holder back then and was imvolved in Barry Lilley's walk of shame to raise money.

That was very bad but so was the team. This season is so frustrating especially when we might be facing those dark days again unless our luck changes.

You will be fine in the middle 8's. At least 5 teams much worse than you in there and I'd expect you to win all of your home games and doubt you'll finish below 10th at the split so you'll have 4 home games anyway

We shouldn't be looking at the middle 8's and thinking we'll be alright, we should be setting our sights higher. Last night we should have beat Wigan and on the back of some very poor reffing we lost. That 2 points would have kept us right in the mix of the top 8. Now we'll have to settle for the middle 8's as Rovers can't realistically hope for better.

So you shouldn't be looking at the middle 8's but you're settling for the middle 8's?

You have a poor squad and will end the season where you deserve to be based on the game's you've won and lost (and drawn). You can bemoan injuries all you want but if every club had a fully fit side every week you'd still have been bottom 4. You have average players in almost every position on the pitch. Only your halves and hooker are decent quality and maybe a couple of your outside backs

The thing is that this is the make up of the majority of SL side's.

Most SL sides have a better pack than yours. The only forward I would want from rovers is walker. tilse and allgood are very poor for overseas props, green is unfit and doesn't look to have the heart for it and your back row is the worst in SL by some stretch.

80% squad needs binning off and replacing but will probably take 3-5 years to do and it's whether the fans and owners have the patience for it

It's easy to state this when your own team has been virtually injury free all season. It's not surprising where certain teams are this season based on injuries.

The few times we have fielded a nearly fit team we have either won or been exceptionally close (last night or the derby at our place).

The problem is that we'll never know. We can only look back and wonder 'what if' come the end of the season.

As I stated, a very frustrating season.
