Hull KR Snatch Last Breath Victory Over FC

Nothing warms the cockles of ones heart like the prospect of a Hull derby on one of the coldest nights of the year. A KCOM Craven Park, packed to the gills with the colours of the Robins and the Airlie Birds was raucous with anticipation of the season opener.

Both sides had disappointing 2018 seasons, Hull KR battling it out for survival in the middle eights and Hull FC losing their last eleven games, and had reshaped their squads over the winter. The visitors were the favourites but with a vastly changed line-up it was Tim Sheens who were the mystery package.

The orange balls were brought out on a very firm pitch with the expectations of some snow or sleet during the eighty. While the temperatures in the stands were sub-zero, on the pitch it was likely to be red hot.

Re: Hull KR Snatch Last Breath Victory Over FC : Thu Feb 14, 2019 6:28 pm
There’s a UK RFL linesman from Hull who is a staunch Rover’s supporter and he officiated at the derby and was on a certain touch line.

Sung to the tune of Wichita Lineman by Glen Campbell

I am a lineman for the Rovers
And I run the main line
Searchin' in the sun for another foot on the line
I hear you singin' in the East Stand
I can hear all of you whine
And the Rovers lineman is still on the line

I know I need some recognition
And it really is a pain
To believe Keinhorst foot never touched the line well it won't ever stand the strain

And they need you more than we do,
And I watch you all the time
And the Rovers lineman is still on the line

And they need you more than we do,
And I wait for you all of the time
To raise your flag and tell me Keinhorst’s foot was over the line.

You can here to whinge and whine,
While your boys just fail to shine

There's boos and jeers a plenty
As the losing steak gets nearer twenty

Sometimes you need to get over it
And realise your teams just sh.....
