Rochdale won, something like 24-28 I think.
A very messy game in with bucketloads of knock-ons on very hard ground but rainy and greasy conditions. Despite that there was some good handling on display at times from both sides. Manchester could probably have taken the game in the last 10 minutes but pushed the final offload too far several times for knock-ons.
Personally felt Manchester looked the better side in possession and made more yards with harder running, but defensively were poor in places. Their left side winger never seemed to push up with the line in defence, always hanging back and inside a little - that gave away at least 2 tries. Rochdale for their part were good in defence and played a simple but effective game going forward. They took their opportunities well where Manchester often didn't - some decision making was poor - not releasing the ball with numbers wide, and pushing impossible offloads.
Still, some nice big hits and a fairly enjoyable game.
