Our second team game against Mancunians is OFF tomorrow, player availability has hit a low this weekend with our players competing in the Ken Gee Cup.

Our first team game against New Broughton is still on.

Ashton Bears 'A' 24 -4 Little Hulton Reds. (Merit League)

With 6 lads promoted for tomorrows Ken Gee cup semi-final and cry offs to work commitments and beer-soaked barbeques taking their toll, this could have been a tough game for Ashton 2nds but the squad really pulled together and came away with a well earned victory. Little Hulton played their part with some spirited and determined defence and a well taken try but in the end Ashton always had the edge.

However, the game ended on a sour note when it was abandoned on 60 mins due to a serious head injury to an Ashton player, everyone from both clubs wishes him a speedy recovery.

It is, 2.30 ko at Ince Rose Bridge. Should be a good game with 3 ex-Ashton lads now playing at St Judes in their NCL side.

Update on the lad with the injury, discharged from hospital and thankfully no damage just a very bad headache!

Lymm played very well and will once again be a force in this division.

We are hampered with Injuries, we have 10 players missing from the team that took Lymm to extra time in last years Semi Final.

Its going to a long old season for us in 2010.

if it is true its the 1st iv heard m8 wasnt there saturday due to work commitments
