LEIGH MINERS U18s 52 v 10 CELTIC CRUSADERS U18s
Leigh Miners booked themselves a National Youth League Grand Final place with a convincing 52-10 victory over second place Celtic Crusaders. Miners started slowly with Celtic taking an early lead through some sloppy miners defending under the sticks to give the visitors a 6-0 advantage. The hosts it back with two good solo trys from centre johnny pownall and full back adam clay to give miners a 10- 6 lead.Miners extended there lead after a Pownall break, Clay scoring is second of the game under the posts to give the score 16-6.Stand off Aaron Reeves scored the final try of the first half, the try converted to give miners a 22-6 half time lead. Reeves scored his second five minutes into the second half, Miners continued to pressure the celtic line with prop Jason Unsworth scoring from 15 out to give miners a 34-6 lead. With miners in command of the game second row Shaun Marsh crashed over, Miners scored again from the next set with Reeves grabbing his hat trick to give the score line 46-6.Celtic scored a consulation try out wide, Miners finished off the scoring with centre Mathew Rozman making a break to find Reeves supporting inside, who went over for his fourth try of the match, Pownall converting to give the final score 52-10 for the miners.
Miners now have a weekend off before the Grand Final on the 26th of this month.
